we hold your data lightly.
juuno is a small app run by one person. we collect what we need to compute your chart, generate your prompts and reflections, and run your subscription. nothing else. we don't sell your data, we don't profile you for advertisers, and we don't run third-party analytics or trackers.
01what we collect
each item below earns its place. nothing is collected on the side.
- birth details: the date, time, and place of birth you enter. we use these to compute your natal chart. the resulting chart is stored on our server so daily readings can run overnight and so the same chart is available across your devices.
- display name: whatever you'd like the app to call you. first name only is fine.
- circle members' birth details: if you add someone to your circle, you provide their birth details so we can compute the connection between your charts. juuno never messages anyone on your behalf. the app generates a private invite link you can share (or not). if the recipient opens the link, all they see is your display name and an accept-or-decline option. they never see your birth chart, email, or any other identifier.
- apple sign-in identifier: an opaque identifier provided by apple when you sign in. we never see your apple id email unless you choose to share it.
- subscription state: managed by apple. we receive an opaque receipt and a record of whether your subscription is active. we never see card details.
- timezone & push token: if you enable daily reading notifications, we store your timezone and an apple push token so the reading lands in your morning, not the middle of the night.
- last-seen timestamp: when you last opened the app, used to skip generating readings for accounts that have gone dormant.
what we don't collect
- your contacts.
- your photos.
- your precise location.
- third-party advertising identifiers (no idfa, no facebook sdk, none of that).
- third-party analytics events. we don't run posthog, mixpanel, google analytics, or any equivalent in the app.
- crash reports of our own. apple may share aggregated diagnostics with us if you've opted in via iOS settings → privacy & security → analytics & improvements → share with app developers; that data flows through apple, not through us, and is anonymised by them before we see it.
02how we use it
we use the data above to do exactly four things, and nothing else:
- compute your natal chart and the day's transits.
- generate your daily prompt, weekly reflection, and affirmation against your goal.
- deliver your daily prompt at the right time for your timezone, and route your “held in mind” gestures to the right circle member.
- process your subscription through apple.
03your circle
your circle is a private group of up to five people whose birth details you've added. it's yours alone. no other juuno user can see it. circle members see your display name, your current goal, the season phase, today's affirmation (only if you don't hide it), and your sun sign. they do not see your full birth chart or your sunday reflection.
when you add someone, the app generates a private invite link. juuno itself doesn't deliver anything to anyone; you choose whether and how to share the link. until the recipient opens it, the invite is dormant and visible only to you.
if the recipient does open the link, the only thing they see is your display name and an accept-or-decline option. they never see your chart, your email, or any other identifier.
if you remove a member, their birth details are deleted from our systems within 30 days. removed members aren't notified.
04sub-processors
we share data only with the small set of vendors required to run the app. each is bound by their own data processing terms.
- apple inc.: sign in with apple, app store, subscription management, and apple push notification service for daily reading delivery.
- cloudflare, inc.: we run the api on cloudflare workers and store account data in cloudflare kv. cloudflare's network is global and data may be replicated across edge locations.
- openai, l.l.c. (united states): reading generation. when a reading is requested, the prompt (your chart and the date) is sent to openai. we run on a configuration where openai does not retain prompts beyond the response and does not use your data to train models.
we do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information. we do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics aggregators.
05retention
your account data is kept for as long as you use juuno. if you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 30 days, with the exception of records we're legally required to retain (for example, payment-related records for tax purposes), which may be kept in restricted form.
generated readings are cached on our server for a short period (hours to days, depending on the reading type) and then automatically expired.
06your rights
under uk gdpr (and equivalents in the eea, california, and similar regimes), you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you.
- correct it if it's wrong.
- export it in a machine-readable form.
- delete it (“right to be forgotten”).
- object to or restrict our processing of it.
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
to exercise any of these, email support@juuno.app. in-app deletion lives at settings → account → delete account. we respond within 30 days.
07children
juuno is not directed at children under 13. we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. if you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email us and we'll delete it.
08security
data is encrypted in transit using tls 1.3 between your device, our api, and our sub-processors. account data stored in cloudflare kv sits inside cloudflare's production infrastructure and is encrypted at rest. access to the api is gated by a session token tied to your apple sign-in identifier.
no system is perfect. if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you within 72 hours, in line with uk gdpr.
09international transfers
juuno is operated from the united kingdom. cloudflare's network is global, and data may transit edge locations worldwide. when readings are generated, prompts are sent to openai in the united states. for transfers outside the uk and eea, we rely on the standard contractual clauses (and uk addendum) plus the supplementary safeguards published by each sub-processor.
10contact
juuno is operated by federica donald.
for any privacy or data-protection question, email support@juuno.app. if we don't resolve your concern, you can complain to the uk information commissioner's office at ico.org.uk.
that's the whole policy. it will change as the app does. when it changes, we'll tell you in-app, not just on this page.
